Instant Beach Waves

If you want that fun, messy beach-wave look and you don’t have time to hit the ocean, here is a 5-minute trick to get them effortlessly. And it’s extremely easy, here goes!

  • Part your hair equally down the middle so you have 2 equal parts to work with – left and right. Taking your left section first, further split this into 3 sections. Starting with the back section, spray your hair from top to bottom with water. You want your hair to be DAMP but not soaking wet like you just got out of the shower. You simply need enough moisture for the curl to set.
  • Next, add a few drops of hair wax (very minimal), but just enough to create some texture and allow the curl to stick. Last you are going to start twisting this section of hair away from your face. It’s good to have a bit of wax residue on your hands as you’re twisting your hair to help the twist remain in place. NOTE: if you have super fine hair and usually hard to curl, it’s a great idea to also lightly spray the twist with hairspray (Level 1 of ‘Hold it Right There).
  • Now holding the end of your twist, you’re going to blast it with heat using your blow dryer for a few seconds, until the section is dry. Now that the twist is dry, you’ll want to let it cool while remaining twisted. Do this by taking a small clip and securing the bottom (it’s alright if you have a bit of it unravel).
  • Repeat this process with the other two sections on the same side of your head, as well as the 3 sections on the other side of your head. Once your entire head has set, you’re going to remove the clips and release the twist. Slowly open each one, fanning it out and running your fingers through. Grab a bit more hair wax and finish by scrunching each section.

This the perfect vacation hairstyle if you don’t want to spend too much time on your hair, or if you just want that fun and messy look any day!
