Blonde Balayage without Bleach

Kim Kardashian balayage

While Balayage is all the rage right now, you may crave the look but might not want to damage your own locks with hair dye (especially, bleach!). Thankfully, there’s another way to do it. This look can be achieved for those who already have light hair but want their ends to seamlessly fade into an even lighter blonde. How you ask??? Hair extensions!!

Here’s how to get the blonde balayage look using only hair extensions (and it’s totally easy):

You’ll need:

….that’s it!

Since the allure of this look comes from a lighter color of hair blending seamlessly from the mid-shaft of your hair downwards, all you need to do as add your hair extensions mid-way down. Saves you a lot of trouble…am I right?

Steps:

  • As always, begin by brushing your hair throughout using your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Miracle Brush’ to ensure there are no tangles. What’s great about this paddle brush compared to others is that it contains duo bristles (half natural boar and half nylon) which together, gliding smoothly and effortless through the hair to unlock tangles while boosting shine and adding volume. If you have a little babe at home, it’s also ideal for their gentle scalp!
  • Next, you’ll need to separate the top half of your hair from the bottom and secure with a Gator Grip (these things are so handy). Then, taking your Big Tease comb you’re going separate this bottom section of hair on an even line into two, and secure the top away with another gator grip. Tease the hair along this line to create a secure base for your hair extensions. Taking a 4-clip weft, you’re then going to secure it over this teased area. Now release the next section of hair and repeat with another 3-clip weft. Optional: if you’ve left enough space, you can do this again one level just above the nape of your neck with another 3-clip weft. Now release the top of your hair and enjoy your DIY blonde balayage!
