Snake Braid Hair Tutorial

woman at premiere with snake braid

This is such a cool way to braid your hair that will be sure to turn some heads! It’s also cool because it will add some flair to a simple wavy ‘do.

Tools:

Steps:

  • Begin by brushing your hair throughout to remove any tangles (using your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Miracle Brush’). Follow this by clipping in your hair extensions. Note: when clipping in your hair extensions on the side of your head, be sure to clip them in slightly closer to the back (close to your ears) as this will ensure they are well hidden for this look.
  • Take the end of your Big Tease comb and part a straight line down the middle of your head. You don’t have to make it look too perfect, that way it will appear more natural! Once your hair is split, take the top section of your side bangs, move away (and pin), and grab a section of hair from underneath. With this section of hair you’re going to create a regular 3-strand braid towards the back of your head. Once you’ve reached the bottom of the braid, grab one of the 3 sectioned strands and hold. Push the rest of the strands upwards, while still holding on to the initial section. As you push it upward, you’ll begin to see this “snake effect” forming. Secure the ends with a hair elastic.
  • Release your bangs and place this braid overtop. Now, take your bobby pins and secure. To cover the bobby pins, take some hair from the opposite side and simply bring over. And this completes the look!
  • Pro Tip: want some added shine? Spray some Glossilocks Shine Spray throughout for instant brilliance! It will also give your tresses a light-melon-y scent that will have others swooning.
