3 Styles for Short Hair

All of these styles look great no matter your hair texture – curly, wavy, or straight! They’re also great techniques to learn and can be used in a number of variations. Here are 3 awesome hairstyles for short hair:

Half-Up French

This is a cool and trendy way to wear your hair half up. You’ll need a few bobby pins and a hair elastic for this style. It doesn’t matter if your hair has a middle or side part for this look. Beginning at the top of your forehead, grab 3 equal pieces of hair to create a normal French braid. This is a great style for 2nd or 3rd day hair, when any part may look a bit greasy. Note: you can also use your Leyla Milani Hair No H20 Dry Shampoo to freshen up your roots! Once you reach the back of your head, finish with a 3-strand braid and secure with a hair elastic. Finish off this look by taking a few pieces on both sides of your head and pinning it over the elastic at the end of your braid. Leave a few pieces out at the front of your head to also frame your face.

Twisted Ponytail

Take the front section on one side of your head and create a normal fresh braid. Separate this section of hair into 3 pieces, crossing the outside pieces over the middle piece and adding hair along the way. Temporarily secure your braid with an elastic once you reach the end. Gently pull out a few pieces from the braid to add texture and fullness. Gathering the rest of your hair along with your braid, create a low ponytail and secure with another hair elastic. Take out the previous hair elastic while still holding the bottom. Wrap this braid around your low ponytail and secure with a bobby pin.

Framed Twists

This hairstyle is actually do-able with any hair length and is especially useful when you are in a rush! Beginning with you hair parted down the middle, take a front piece of hair, and starting at the root begin to twist the hair downward. Add hair as you keep twisting, keeping the hair tight. Once you’ve twisted to the bottom, take a bobby pin and pin this section of hair around to the side of your head. Do the same thing on the opposite side. This is an easy and beautiful way to frame your face for any hair length!
