How to: Quick Twisted Updo

Sometimes the best hairstyles take only minutes to complete and are great for those fast-paced mornings where time is really of the essence. It’s great to learn a few of those quick style tricks for when that alarm clock fails you… or you just need some extra zzz’s. The amazing part is, many of these styles look super chic and time-consuming when they’re actually very easy to achieve. This quick twisted updo above can be done in as little as 3 minutes flat…you can’t cut into coffee time now can you? ;) Here’s how to work it fast:

• First, create a middle part and start by teasing your hair on both sides using your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Big Tease’ Take wide horizontal sections and tease layers of your hair all the way downward. Once you’ve completed your entire head, lightly brush through to smooth out the teasing.
• Next, shift your part to one side and if your prefer, you can let out some bangs to hang out at the front. Beginning on one side, take your hair and loosely twist it backward, twisting in more hair until you reach the back of your head on the same side. Using a few bobby pins, secure the first twisted section. Repeat the same twisting process on the other side and secure.
• Now, taking both sides of twisted hair (together) flip them up and under onto itself, rolling the hair upward and inward to create a rolled bun. Secure with more bobby pins until you are satisfied with the hold (it’s ok if a few pieces are falling out, since it can add to the “messy” appeal).
• Last, finish with a few spritzes of your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Hold it Right There’ hairspray (on levels 1-3 depending on desired hold) and your good to go!
