Day-to-Night Transition Hair

braided half-do with waves on a woman

Especially when travelling, it’s really desirable to have hairstyles that can be effortlessly transitioned from day to night. Here’s how to get a chic look that can easily fly from day to night with a few simple tweaks:

Tools:

Day-time Hairstyle – Braided half-do with Waves

Create a small “topsy-tail” (taking 2 small sections of hair from the top of your head and securing with a clear hair elastic). Take this ponytail and flip it underneath and clipping out of the way. Create another small ponytail directly beneath the first and secure with a clear hair elastic (the first should line up with the second). Then, releasing the top ponytail, separate the top ponytail piece into two, laying it over the second ponytail. Now, take the second ponytail and clip to the top of your head to get it out of the way. Take the split section from the top ponytail and secure with a clear elastic. Release the second ponytail from the top. Pull on the newly created loop to add some volume. Keep repeating this process for 3 loops. Transition into a 3-strand braid – using all of the hair from both ponytails. Braid all of the way down and secure with a clear hair elastic. For the remaining portion of your hair, secure in a few 2-3 clip wefts (hair extensions) and add some waves using your Leyla Milani Hair Triple Threat Curling Iron using the larger barrel to get a bigger wave. This completes the look giving you a beautiful braided boho daytime style with chic waves!

Night-time Hairstyle – Braids on Braids

To transition to something more formal to the evening, you’re going to add a few more braids to this style! Take a small section of hair from the front of your head and cross it over to the back and over your braid, creating a ponytail with your hair (using a small section from both sides of your head). Next, create a small fishtail braid that you’re going to pull through and stack on top of your 3-strand braid. Once completed, gently pull on the fishtail braid to add more volume and get it a messier look. From here, pull the fishtail braid form underneath and through the regular 3-strand braid above it. Optional: add a hair accessory to complete this night-time look!
