Crowned French Braid Style

woman with dirty blonde hair in Crowned French Braid

This is a bohemian-chic look that is great for an evening night out! It’s a quick way to add some feminine elegance to your style, and also allows you to accessorize. Here’s how to get the Crowned French Braid!

Tools:

Steps:

  • Begin by brushing your hair throughout using your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Miracle Brush’. Next, for added length and volume, clip in a full set of your hair extensions. Next part your hair on your left side and pick up a small section on the heavy side of the part – this is what you will be using to start your French Braid. Now, split this section into 3 smaller pieces and then alternate crossing the side strands over the middle strand. As you do this motion, also start bringing in new pieces of hair into the braid. Continue the French Braid working down towards the left ear. Once you pass your ear, finish this braid as a regular 3-strand braid. Once you reach the bottom, secure it by crossing one bobby pin over the other.
  • Next, you’re going to create another French braid on the opposite side of your head. Take a small piece near the part and dividing it into 3 sections. You’re going to bring about 3 more sections into this 3-strand braid and finish with a regular braid all the way down. Cross-over 2 bobby pins at the bottom to ensure your braid doesn’t unravel. Now that each braid is finished, gently pull on the edges to make them a bit wider and fuller.
  • Take both of the braids to the back of your head placing one over the other, tucking the ends underneath and pinning in place with a few bobby pins. Slide the bobby pins under your braids to allow them to remain hidden. Remove the bobby pins that were holding the ends of the braids in place. Optional: as a finishing touch complete with an accessory (i.e. hair chain) for some added fancy!
