3 Luxe Travel Hairstyles

If you’re ready to go exploring, here are some great hairstyles that are boho, chic, and look absolutely flattering in photos! Here are 3 travel hairstyles that you’ll love to master:

Tousled Fishtail Ponytail

  • First, loosely gather your hair into a low ponytail and secure with a hair elastic. Since you’re going to be creating a fishtail, separate your ponytail into 2 sections. This is going to be a “chunkier” fishtail, so instead of grabbing thin sections from each side, make them thicker. Grab a thick section from the left section crossing it over to the right and then a thick section from the right, crossing it over to the left. Remember that all a fishtail is, is a 2-strand braid. You can also mix it up by doing some pieces thin and some pieces chunky. Leave a few inches of hair at the ended, unbraided, for a more relaxed and tousled appearance. Pull some pieces loose around the front to frame your face as well as throughout the braid. Finish by putting on your favorite hat and go explore! This look is gorgeous for travel photos.

Natural Curls with Crown Accent

  • Part your hair into 2 sections and secure them into 2 separate, low ponytails. Next, take your curling wand and curl each ponytail. Take big chunks at a time from each ponytail, wrapping the hair around the curling wand and pointing it downward. Curl until the hair is warm and release. Hold the curl in your palm for 10 seconds to set OR clip to hold for longer so that the curl can cool. Do this until both ponytails have been curled. Optional: add your clip-in hair extensions for added fullness and volume! Last, take a small section of hair from the side-front of your head and complete a fishtail going down the side. Pull on the fishtail to add more volume. Take a similar sized piece of hair from the opposite side of your head bringing it to the back, and tying it to your fishtail braid with a hair elastic.

Side Braided Ponytail

  • Take a large section of hair from one side towards the front and create a regular 3 strand braid. Once you reach the end, secure with a hair elastic. Gently pull on the sides to create a fuller braid. Gather the rest of your hair along with your braid (letting out a piece of hair on the opposite side to frame your face) and secure at the back of your head with a hair elastic. Cover the elastic by taking a small piece of hair from the ponytail and wrapping it around. Secure with a bobby pin.
