French Fishtail Braid Hair Tutorial
This spin on this Fishtail Braid is very unique as it incorporates a French style of braiding! It may take a bit of practice, but the look is so beautifully effortless! Here’s how to get it:
- Always begin by brushing your hair thoroughly with your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Miracle Brush’ to ensure there are no tangles as well as to increase natural shine. Also, clip-in your hair extensions at this point to increase hair length and volume!
- Gather a medium-sized section of hair at the crown of your head and then split into 2 equal sections so that you can start to create a regular Fishtail Braid. Do this by taking your index finger, and taking a small section to the right, you’re then going to bring it over to the left. The taking your index finger of your left hand, and taking a small section from the left, then bringing it over to the right. Repeat this same step twice. This will be considered the “small fishtail”, as you are also going to create a larger one.
- Now taking a small section on the right, front side of your hair, bring it over to the left, and repeat on the opposite side. This will create the large Fishtail Braid. Continue doing these exact same steps by moving from the small Fishtail Braid to the large Fishtail Braid, and repeat until you’ve reached the bottom of your neck. At this point you are going to finish with a regular Fishtail Braid, pulling to the back and side.
- Last going through the braid, gently pull on the sections on both sides to create a more effortless look. Continue doing this until you are happy with the results. Secure your braid at the bottom with a hair elastic.
