How to Blow-dry Your Hair Straight
For those of you with wavy, curling, or hard to work hair – this tutorial is for you! This is a simple and effective way to blow-dry your hair STRIAGHT and SHINY.
Tools:
- ‘Blow Me Away’ Professional Dryer
- Miracle Brush
- Round Brush
- Gator Clips
- Shine Spray {optional}
Steps:
- After washing and conditioning your hair, you’re ready for your blow-dry! {Optional: apply a light coat of heat protectant spray to your hair to protect your strands prior to drying). Brush your hair using your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Miracle Brush’ to ensure there are no tangles. The boar/nylon bristles of this brush help to detangle even the toughest hair without pulling or causing unnecessary breakage.
- Blow-dry your hair until it’s about 70-80% dry {optional: do this with your head upside down for more volume). Next, separate your hair into 3 sections – the top portion of your head including your bangs, and the bottom 2 sides (left and right). Secure these sections with your gator clips.
- Working with 1-2 inch sections of hair at a time, begin by placing your round brush under your hair close to your scalp, while pointing the nozzle of your blow dryer downward from above. This will help control any frizz and create a straight, sleek, shiny look. The key to drying the hair straight is to actually dry the hair from above as well as underneath – this will take about 30 – 60 seconds. Repeat this process until all sections of your hair have been dried.
- For consistency, take the back crown section of your hair and give this section an additional blow-dry (so that all of the pieces fall together in the back). Last, when working with your bangs, blow-dry them both towards and away from your face before styling in the direction your want. For added volume, let your bangs set within the round brush for 60 seconds before releasing.
- Finish by applying some Leyla Milani Hair ‘Glossilocks’ Shine Spray for added luminosity!
