‘Wet’ Hair Tutorial

Kim Kardashian with slicked back wet hair

High trend and fashionable at the moment, is the ‘wet’ hair look. It’s dramatic, sexy, and graced the runways for both Christian Dior and Jeremy Scott for Fall 2014. You’ll also spot some of your favorite celebrities rocking this look on the red carpet. Here’s how to get that iconic slicked back hair in just a few simple steps:

  • With partially blow-dried hair, section off crown of the hair using the end of your back-combing brush (using your Leyla Milani Hair ‘Miracle Brush) and pin it up and out of the way.

Note: if your hair is already dry, you can take a spray bottle and dampen it with a few mists instead!

  • Next, take the sections on the side of your head above your ear, and using a bit of gel or coconut oil, begin creating your wet look by running it through your tresses with your fingers. Then, brush your hair upwards and backward, sleeking your hair to the back and pinning it into place with a bobbypin. You’ll want to make sure this part is tight and sleek! Brush over it again if you have to, making it more taught and smooth. Repeat on the opposite side.

Note: When applying the gel or coconut oil, you don’t want to put it on the ends of the hair—only at the roots and top portion of your hair.

  • Next, take down the top section of your hair and apply gel/coconut oil throughout. Depending on how thick your hair is you’ll want to adjust and use as much as you think is necessary. Once your hair has been positioned, you’ll want to end by taking a bit more gel and running it through until you’re satisfied with your level of sleekness. Last, take your Leyla Milani Hair Glossilocks Shine Spray and lightly mist over the look to give it high shine. Now you’re ready to own the ‘wet’ hair look this Fall 2014!
